Together for Sharon

TogetherForSharon is a heartfelt initiative started by George Ackerman in memory of his mother, Sharon Riff Ackerman, who passed away from Parkinson’s disease on January 1, 2020. The movement aims to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease, advocate for a cure, and ensure that no one feels alone in their battle against this condition.

Sharon’s Story

Sharon Riff Ackerman was a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother. She lived with Parkinson’s for many years, but it began to significantly impact her daily life around 2014 Despite her struggles, she cherished moments with her family, especially Sundays spent with her grandchildren

The Movement

George created TogetherForSharon to keep his mother’s memory alive and to spread a message of hope and support for those affected by Parkinson’s The movement is not a formal organization or foundation; instead, it is a personal mission driven by George’s love for his mother and his desire to make a difference

TogetherForSharon engages in various activities to promote Parkinson’s awareness:

  • Social Media Campaigns: Sharing stories, updates, and information to educate the public.
